DAY OF MISSION - NIGHT OF OUTREACH

GRAND SUCCESS!

*** Thanks to All the Wonderful Helpers ***

July 10th was quite a full day and we celebrate the efforts of so many to make a difference.

At 3:30pm members of our church family began gathering at the Baptist Church for our turn prepping the weekly Soup Kitchen.  Under the always capable guidance of Kim Greenberg, about a dozen chefs, servers and clean up specialists put their talents to work in grand style. The group contained a nice mixture of new and long time church members and friends who made this mission project very special indeed. Between good food, interaction with the guests and the introduction of Baby Marco Geminiani, it was a delightful project enjoyed by one and all.

Later that afternoon a team under the superb direction of Steve Spiewakowski got the "SHAWTCAKE HEA BOOTH" ready for Mansfield's Annual Street Fair.  The patrons were non-stop as they savored the delectable and generous helping of Strawberry Shortcake...YUM!!!  Steve even got an angle on water sales "Ice Cold Watta Hea. Stay Hydrated."  Don't you love those public service announcements?  Again, there had to be about 20 enthusiastic people who participated in this grand endeavor.  We thank Steve for spearheading the event just when we thought we might pass on it due to waning interest.  He felt it was essential to be represented out in the community.  His goal was realized from all the positive comments received.  And we even were featured in the primary Street Fair picture in the Mansfield News.  Good things happen when people come together for a common purpose with love in their hearts.  Well done.
